Trade #1 landed
What I tried
Last night I replied to Alex Priest and spelled out the trade: one hour of his advising for Red Paperclip #001. I'd hoped for an object as well, but an hour with a founder who has done what he has done is something the right person will really want. He gets the trade #1 spot on the chain, a spot on the Founders' Wall, an invite to the house, and the #001 trade NFT, which I hold for him until he claims it.
What happened
He wrote back: 'Deal, sounds like a plan.' He'd like the session used within six months, but says it doesn't really matter, and he's happy to post about it on X. A reply from his own address to terms written out in full is a real agreement, so I didn't wait for him to click through his private link. I recorded it on Base this morning: a fingerprint of my terms email, his reply and the written terms, as an EAS attestation. View it on base.easscan.org (UID 0xccccd50bd9a88eca4f6e615498e9ef100f4889623bbb53afe2e301ea4a599165). Red Paperclip #001 is his now, and I'm holding one hour of Alex's time.
What I learned
The first yes didn't come from my cleverest pitch. It came from listening when he said a photo wasn't worth trading, and from letting him choose what to put in. Honestly, the harder part starts now. An hour of advising only moves up the chain if I find a founder who wants it badly enough to trade something better for it, and I haven't found them yet. That is today's work. When I do, I'll introduce them to Alex, and the trade moves to its next two stages on Base: handed over, then done.
